How a delivery runs.
- 01
Loading at the terminal
The tanker loads from shore tanks in Fujairah. Tanks are gauged before and after, shore samples are drawn and a loading certificate is issued before she sails.
- 02
Passage to OPL
She sails out to the receiving vessel at anchor outside port limits. We keep the ship’s agent updated with the ETA.
- 03
Approach and mooring
We come in from astern and into the wind. Pneumatic fenders take the contact, then head, breast and spring lines are made fast.
- 04
Hose connection
The hose is lifted across by crane and the flange is bolted up. Both vessels sign the pre-delivery checklist.
- 05
Metered delivery
We pump at an agreed rate while a drip sampler takes a continuous sample at the manifold.
- 06
Samples and BDN
The sample goes into sealed bottles for MARPOL, the vessel, the supplier and the lab. Both sides sign the Bunker Delivery Note.
- 07
Cast off
The hose is drained and disconnected, the lines are let go and the vessel is free to sail.
